Last week, Walker hosted its annual Walker Forum. The event brought together individuals, from some of the worlds most admired companies, who are dedicated to leveraging the customer perspective to drive business success. The event was at the Seascape Resort, in Aptos, CA and covered the theme of Increasing the Odds of Profitable Growth.
The program was packed with client case studies, general discussions, presentations covering six components to increase the odds, a business simulation, and networking events. There was a lot happening, with only one exception - Sleep.
On the journey home, I couldn't help thinking about good reasons to lose sleep. Afterall, getting enough sleep is important to our health and I had been functioning on three hours a night, which was four hours less than my usual.
I came to the following conclusion. The three best reasons to lose sleep are:
- Spending time with family,
- Enjoying friends, and
- Interacting with clients
There aren't many good reasons to lose sleep, but spending time with clients is definitely one of them.
To all of our clients who joined us this year, thank you for attending and sharing your story. And, to those who were not able to make it because of the volcanic ash cloud, we missed you and we will see you next time.
