Tailored Insights

Engaging various stakeholders and motivating them to act is a common challenge among customer intelligence professionals. One best practice is to tailor the insights to each stakeholder group based on their unique interests and desired outcomes. Since it is not always clear what topics are most desirable for each audience, allow time in your plan to seek their input.  Use your cross-functional team to guide the creation of presentations or other deliverables, and/or go to the executive in advance of the presentation and ask, “What would you hope to learn from our customers?” Create a simple grid to capture all desired audiences, their primary interests, and the one or two key messages to emphasize with them.
